赤毛のアンで有名なPEI等他各州では、品物やサービスの代金以外に税やチップが必要となった場合、簡単に品物の代金の30?40%位は余分に払うことを頭に入れておきましょう。 その後実際に物価が「安いか」という問題を考えましょう。
観光客は税金返還がありますが、規定の条件がありますので注意してください。
私の経験では、こういったものを考慮すると日本のほうが圧倒的に安いものばかりです。
